Is there a BSA threaded bottom bracket that will allow use of a BB30 crankset? If so, suggestions are appreciated.

Most BB30 cranksets have a spindle that is too short to work on a frame with a BSA bottom bracket.

The only exception that I know of (for a crankset marketed as "BB30") are SRAM Force 22/Rival 22 BB30 cranksets with removable spiders, which technically follow the BB386 standard. These can be used on a BSA frame with the use of an FSA MegaEvo or other BB386 bottom bracket.

I know Rotor makes one. Raceface may too.

Yeah, Rotor cranks with 30mm spindles are also the wide, BB386 standard. SWORKS, Hollowgrams, non removable spider SRAM and some FSA are the narrow ones...

Yes. Rotor makes one in an English & Italian threaded version. I've used it to run a Rotor 3d+ bb30 crankset on an old 80's steel bike with Italian threaded bb. Worked perfectly. As mentioned by others, Rotor 3d+ cranks have longer spindles. Some bb30 specific cranks will not.

The thinnest "BSA30" (Threaded shell > 30mm axle) cups/bearings are ~10mm. With a 68mm shell width this means you need >88mm between the crankarms when they are fully mounted on the spindle.

I did not know that. This opens up my frame upgrade possibilities greatly. Thank you.

SRAM's long spindle is so long that I still needed spacers when using it with an FSA MegaEvo.

Cannondale seems to make numerous spindle lengths to work with their BB30 Hollowgram cranks. It seems 109 is the traditional road length, which according to the messages above, would be too small. But it seems there's an assortment of longer spindles that might work too? Any ideas there?

the rotor bsa30 works without spacers is what i've learned.

That is correct. You should be able to get a separate spindle for the hollowgram crankset and use it with the BSA>>BB30 bottom bracket.

Not correct. If you try to jam a Hollowgram with the 137mm mtb spindle into the Rotor BSA30 BB or even the THM BSA BB, which also mates to a 30mm spindle, you'll face a number of issues too long to list.

All you need is the 109mm spindle - never said anything about MTB length..

That adapter BB won't work with a Hollowgram.

Will not work with standard BB30 cranksets. PLEASE MEASURE YOUR BB30 CRANK SPINDLE LENGTH!

Now, you're probably thinking the solution would be to use one of the longer spindles, but the quirks of the Hollowgrams will not allow for a proper installation. The only solution or work around that I'm aware of can be found on Weight Weenies. And the user there had to machine a few pieces.

someone tried this on WW a few years ago, the 109 is definitely too short, the 137 is too long without a ton of spacers (and that was using the vumaquad BB which is slightly wider than the bsa30 ones).

i'm sure it's *possible* but at the point that it would work, it would be a huge headache and have a really weird q-factor on road.

I stand corrected. So, they make an adapter B.B. that works for just one or two options? Seems silly.

Verve Infocranks and their Praxis cousins also use a 30mm spindle that work well with BSA BBs

nah, in a world where rotor and sram dominate a ton of OEM cranks, it works for a lot.
