Yes, the much maligned Surly Cross Check that many of us own or owned, known for its versatility and durability. Here is mine. Sorry for the non drive side photo. It is my SS allarounder and gravel grinder. And, it gets lots of ride time.

I had a CC that on paper should have been nothing special but it was a great bike for what I asked it to do - which was serve as a townie/commuter.

I feel that the CC should be mentioned in the same breath as the Long Haul Trucker (LHT) as they are good, venerable, realiable machines that formed the bedrock of what made America great for centuries... :D

Surly Cross Check introduced me to the fun of fat tire all rounders.
I went from that to a Soma Stanyan and finally settled on BMC Monster Cross.

I don't own it anymore, but it was the first bike I built up and I learned a lot about what I like and what I don't like. Had a lot of fun with it!
