In the course of changing a stem on a new to me Serotta, I had the scary revelation of finding that the compression plug in the fork had come loose. I put it back in and tightened ,but do not have a torque wrench so I aways err on the side of caution. Took it out for a ride and all seems fine, but want some expert advise on A. what torque value(Nm) should it be tightened too and B.is there anything else I should know or worry about with this. The fork is not damaged in anyway ,I just did not have enough space to accomodate the difference in stack height of the new stem so it was almost flush with the plug and when tightening I must of loosened it. Thanks in advance all!

I dont know the torque value but the serotta plug uses the reynolds design.

when I had mine I just snugged it up.

Thanks,Thats what I did, probably fine but I thought I would ask around here as most of my experience has been of the 1” quill stem variety.

note the 5mm is to expand the plug, the 6mm cap is essentially a huge nut that acts as the headset pre-load
