is when a car passes you at 40 mph around a blind curve, giving you 2 feet of shoulder covered in gravel, then 20 yards up the road slows way down (like to 15 mph) and gives a porcupine like 10 feet of space.

atleast I got to see a small porcupine pretty up close.

Of course, a cyclist will just bounce right off their car like a sack of potatoes but a porcupine could pop their tires.

That happened to me once, and it was close, so I gave the car a quick rap on the door...the driver slammed on the brakes and passed me with 10 feet of clearance after the corner. It was as scared as I’ve been on a bike.

My favorite thing is when I let my 14 year old dog off the leash at the park and she rolls in the grass. Something about the sounds that come out her makes everything else less important!
