Trying to include a skinsuit in my regular rotation of cycling kit because i got a great deal on it...unfortunately, no pockets! First, am wondering if anyone has successfully hacked/bodged their skinsuits to add a pocket for phone/wallet/keys? would love photos!

Also, if anyone has a tailor to recommend to do this hack in SoCal, I would much appreciate it!

To all the bikers out there with ladies to impress
It's easy to do just follow these steps
1: Cut a hole in a suit
2: Put your pocket in that hole
3: Make her open the pocket
And that's the way you do it
It's my pocket in a suit... my pocket in a suit babe

Since its the fall going into winter, I'm assuming you're using a base layer, just put your stuff in a zip lock bag and put it in the front. It will help to keep you warm too!

you can also use velcro tape to stick put a temporary pocket on you skinsuit.

Cut the top off a H2O bottle and stuff it with your needs, stuff the carrier bottle in your second cage, usually require less H2O during the winter season.

If you have to trick people into touching your junk you are doing it wrong (and also a predator.) I doubt they'd be impressed.

generally most situations where one would want to use a skinsuit, you don't really need to carry things in your pockets. maybe your car key or a gel, at the most. stick the gel up one leg of the shorts. hide the car key around your car somewhere.

Throw a fanny pack on to hold your stuff. So versatile and since you are already wearing a skinsuit in a non-race setting who cares what you look like . . .

I cannot recommend a tailor (my girlfriend did the sewing for me), but you can try sewing a small pocket into the back collar.

A previous team that I rode for had Champion System clothing. The skinsuits came with small pockets sewn into the back collar. My gf transferred it to a new team skinsuit that did not have any pockets. It's big enough to hold my car key and phone (but I don't put my phone in there).

Maybe, if you don't have one of these pockets, you could have someone sew in an Oakley lens soft bag?

Could you just buy an iron-on pocket and have it sewn on instead? Thinking something like this. https://www.amazon.com/Underfuse-Performance-Pocket-Android-Windows/dp/B00GPB1PXO

A lot of companies are making skinsuits with pockets - I've seen ones where there is a pocket stitched on to the outside, and ones where there's a slot cut into the skinsuit and the pocket is internal.

It really does show just how creepy dick in a box was. Rather disturbing that it was such a meme back in the day.

I don’t understand. Isn’t this uncomfortable, both in pressure below your neck and blocking the perspiration from leaving your skin? Also, how easy/hard is it to remove and insert your phone while riding? I’ll occasionally take out mine to check the map or answer a call/text.

That is the cheapest and most effective way to do it. When I had to carry my phone in a race (circumstances, racing while supporting wife who also races, sometimes fields are back-to-back), I would tuck it into my heart rate strap on my back, just to the side of my spine. Thankfully it's in a lifeproof case. The car key I could just tuck into and clip to the leg of the skin suit. My least favorite carry that year was a spent Gu packet covered in saliva and Gu, carried and stowed it back in the leg of the suit. The year after that we got skin suits with pockets thank the lawd.

Can't wait until I can get a smart watch with a SIM and don't need to carry a phone at all.
