but their hub has standard end caps? I just got a 27.5 bike (shop end-of-season sale) and the bike came to me with a Pike fork that has the enormous drops (about 3cm to my ruler) so the typical hub end caps sit within that area with 7-8 mm all around. I know the axle is there probably bearing the true stress, but just seems odd and I know I can order the torque end caps. Luckily I crashed badly last week so it will be awhile possibly before I actually ride the 27.5, so just wondering on collective wisdom here with not having the torque specific end caps. hub is a Stan's neo. the funny part of this story is the bike came to me missing one end cap (presumably flew out of the box via hand hole or at bottom under flap as end was not taped. Anyway, I ordered the std end cap, but because of that delay was riding my 29er on a steep rocky ridgeline when I crashed.

Yes. They make no difference. Just makes it easier to mount the wheel.

It's dumb.

I assumed nothing could slip but seemed odd to not have the end caps match the fork
