Question, I currently ride a 57 C50, 120mm stem slammed usually with 5mm spacer on top to spare. Geo charts show a 52s or a 57, was told a 52s was at least a 6 month wait for US, and the 57 they couldn’t give me a time frame. Now it seems that 54s seem to be all over the place. Has any one made it work that’s similar situation?

Is that a Colnago 57, meaning top tube somewhere around 55?

I will answer without any personal experience of the C60 but I think Colnago sizing runs similar across their models through the years. I ride 56 and 57 cm traditional geometry bikes. I have a C40 that is a 56.5 top tube. For years I rode a 52 slope E1, technically too small, but rode it comfortably with a long stem. That has an ETT of 55. I replaced the E1 with a 54s EPS (I was shopping for C59, same geo, but got a good deal on the EPS). It fits comfortably and rides great, but it feels much different, I think because of the mongo head tube. I think one day I might replace it with a traditional geometry like the C40.

Bottom line I think if you ride a 55 cm frame , a 54s will be big for you. Edit -⎌Also if you’re buying new, you should hold out for the right size

Correct top tube is 55...the reach is the same, stack is different by 17mm for the C60 52s and 54s.

54s = 58 (C-T) in traditional. You'll be slightly longer in the top tube. Not ideal of the 57 fits you perfectly.

Isn't a 52S the same (effective) top tube as a 56 traditional?

based on the geo charts (http://brown-snout.com/cycling/tech/_ColnagoGeometryReference.pdf) a C60 in 52s has a 5mm shorter TT than a C50 in 57. so you'd run +5mm stem on the C60 to get the same effective reach. if you need to buy now i'd much rather go longer -- to a 125mm stem than a shorter 115mm, but thats me. it might be tricky to find a stem with the exact reach/drop specs you need tho.
