I sure did

Was trying to change the headset in this ol' 1" head tube fixie conversion - it's getting a threadless fork.

I know I bought the tool, I know it's in the packaging somewhere in the tool box, unless it went out with the recycling...

Eventually, though, I gave up on searching. So I found some wood.

Then I couldn't find a hammer.

You ever install a headset with an axe?

It's a small sample size, but apparently it works sometimes.

I have put headsets in with rocks, wood, car jack and of course the appropriate tools. It's amazing what you can make due with when you're in the wild.

I usually find myself in these scenarios thinking "I know I bought that tool, know I used it, where in creation could it be?"

Give up looking and usually buy or borrow a replacement.

Friend who I returned the tool to returns it a year later.
