Road Bike under 1500 for a woman

Could anybody suggest a good road bike under 1500 dollars. It doesn't have to be gender specific, but if that makes more sense, all the better.

She is of normal build about 5'6" if that helps.

If you have a good Trek dealer check them out...Trek is selling bikes to their dealers at killer prices and they should be passing them along. You might be able to get a lot for the money. (A dealer friend said he can now sell a Dura-Ace carbon Trek for about $2,500) I'd guess other models are equally as reduced.

. . . quite a few women around here (relatively) with the new Specialized "dolce" model. There are several different trim levels, female specific frame and geometry, and when I have asked, they all have given positive feedback. They are happy with their bikes.

For under $1300, you can get a great steel frame with legend of Bianchi and triple for any hills.
