Was hoping for coverage on NBC Sports Gold, but no luck. Anyone know if there is any internet TV coverage? Looks like some wicked climbs.

I think they are only on Fubo in US. Guess I won't see it.

Well played by the Shark. No one can descend with him.

apparently 4 racers over-cooked a corner and fell into a ravine while descending Muro di Sormano. The footage looked awful. Fortunately, at least De Plus is doing okay. Bakelandts broke a few bones in his spine

Paris-Tours today, Sunday on NBC Gold..

BUT Nibali opined,

A win in a Monument has a higher value than a stage in a Grand Tour, as I got this year at the Giro with the Stelvio and at Andorra in the Vuelta.

Hmmm..I guess so..

Nibali has a pretty straight forward strategy: descend like crazy taking every chance and either your competitors will crash (ie. Giro) or he will crash (Brazil Olympics). Risky way to make a living, but it works for him.

Watched the race this morning. Really can't say anything against Nibali. He fought for it, and earned it. Good for him.

Alaphilippe is almost certainly going to be the next new winner of a monument.

Race organizers should be ashamed. I watched the replay of Leplus' crash. That Sormano descent had a sharp narrow right hand bend, no caution flags or advanced warning. They are lucky more guys didn't break their backs/necks or worse.

Yeah, it's not like the organizers don't know where the sketchy corners are. At a minimum, some caution signage should be put there. But on those corners that you know are sketchy that have that kind of drop off, it's worth just erecting some safety netting for the event.

You don't need to do it for the whole descent, just those few corners that are on the side of ravines.

Yeah, when 4 pro riders plummet off a cliff on the same bend, I would tend to think there was something amiss on the safety planning side.
