I've never seen a serious cyclist do that. I have seen a few regular men and women riders who've done it. Just like the backwards helmet.

I stopped one time in our park system and stopped a person. He told me it was right and I should go F myself! I was like dude, seriously, not trying to mess with you. He rode off.

I had a buddy do it on a recent ride. Funny as hell.

I've never seen a serious cyclist do that.

Whoever said anyone who does it is a serious cyclist?!

Reminds me of a story: When I was in high school, back in the '70's, the TV show "Happy Days" was popular. Remember "The Fonz" (Henry Winkler) and his catch phrase "Aaaaaay!" with both thumbs up?

Well, my grandmother bought me a T-shirt with an image of The Fonz doing just that, and the expression above the image.

I wore the T-shirt one night over to pal Jeff's house where we would lift weights. Jeff takes one look at the shirt AND CAN'T STOP LAUGHING. It was so bad he couldn't start the workout until I wore the shirt inside-out.

Wear them how you like. I'll wear them with the chamois in. As Baby Ghandi Jesus intended

I have to say, that has happened to me once. Rapha bibs, all black on black, wasn't paying attention and within like 20 minutes I was feeling kind of uncomfortable, look down and bam, embarrassment time. It was cool, went into the woods, changed up, as good as new.

Nah man. Flipping them inside out just doubles the time before you have to wash them. Dude is a pro just trying to enlighten us.

Happened to me a month ago. Dressed in the dark for the Sat AM ride. Black rapha bibs with black pad. Was 2 hours into ride before I looked down and noticed that the leg gripper looked unusual. Crap. Really?

What did I do? I laid the power down and moved to the front of the pace line for the finishing pull to the sprint and gave a hellacious pull for the sprinters.

Noone ever admitted to noticing.

Some ultra-distance people wear two pairs of bibs, one on the regular way, then an inside-out pair in top of that.

Doesn’t seem to be the case here.

Some people find out they are allergic to the thigh grippers and rather than throw out the shorts roll them up or cut off the lower part of the legs, this guy could have another alternative.

I'd say that's evidence of total focus on the ride and yes, the Rapha bibs do require a second look before heading out the door, as one could easily be in the same boat as that particular cyclist. I'd don't recall how I know this...

Not long ago...Rapha classic bibs, black chamois..I set out and noticed the leg grippers...huh? How come I can see the leg grippers? Yup, inside out..

I'm pretty serious...:)

I swear I've done the exact same thing. Got dressed quickly in the dark...trying not to disturb my wife....got out on the bike....damn, inside out....still love those Rapha classic bibs though!

Probably a sign that:

- You need to go get more caffeine
- You're overtrained
- You might be a parent or something like that

If I was faster I'd do that.

Because what's better than showing up to a super fast group ride in a Pink Floyd jersey and inside out bibs then slaying the competition.

There was a dude in Chicago that did **** like that. Everyone stayed away from him during races and that's how he won. Took about 1 season for folks to catch on.

Maybe he was trying to keep the chamois clean for the second hand market.

What's the problem? Is it that he has his bib-short straps incorrectly under the jersey?

;)

I'll take this over someone who wears their bibs so thin you can see what's going on back there.

Not fun to look up and see ol' brown eye while in a paceline.

OK... guess I'm the 6th 'non-serious cyclist' in this thread who's dressed for a ride in a dimly lit room and put those black Rapha Classic bibs on inside out... nice bibs otherwise.

Hopefully they've changed the design; mine are probably 4-5 yrs old.

I will be honest - I did this very thing once. And I am an experienced cyclist. And it was only about 5yrs ago. And I was tired.

My saving grace was the the chamois was also black and it was a cool Fall day, so no o e really noticed. I think.

It was a low point for me ;)

Mine are a year old, don't think the design has changed much :)

Same. Started a double from my house at 4 am and didn't notice until it was light out and I was well up the road.

I appreciate that those of you who have accidentally done this have admitted it.
It makes me realize that it can indeed happen.

I conclude that wearing underwear or the straps outside over your jersey is ignorance; the inside-out is not in this same category.

Given how many "serious cyclists" have put their kits on inside out in dimly lit rooms, may I suggest a higher wattage light bulb?
Not sure how everyone does it and not notice the difference in the pad VS the lycra against their j@nk. But okie dokie.
