So wait; the guy is working to lose weight and you're posting this to mock him? Is he to heavy to ride which is why you suggest MMA?

Your motives for the post seem like nothing short of setting someone up for shaming. Whether you thought it was slightly funny it's Not cool.

I've got to agree. I lost a lot of weight. Cycling helped do it. Shaming doesn't help and perpetuates the cycle of self criticism and cultural marginalization (at best). Even if the object of your post doesn't see it, other people who are struggling with weight and want cycling to be one way out now see that this vein of hate and mockery is present on PL.

Sigh.
