pal of mine is getting back into riding. he's got a pretty nice cannondale, full 6600. long story short - the left (front) shifter is ka-put.
bike is in my garage now, i see 5700 shifters available for reasonable money and can get them quickly. we've got a big ride coming up in a few weeks and i want to get this bike to functional status for him right away.
5700 shifters will work with his current 6600 FD + RD right?

Edit: reading comprehension fail. You want both shifters.
I can't really recommend 5700 from a performance perspective. There's a reason people hate that generation of Shimano and still covet the exposed cable type.
Did you try the wd-40/triflow fix?

Work yes, but 5700 is under the tape while 6600 is external shift housing. It'll look and feel way wonky ergonomically.

yea, i'll replace both.
this bike lives in NYC, so it's a hard life. both of his old shifters are pretty rashed up. as long as the pull ratios compatible with the FD/RD we should be good.

haha, the inner lever is ripped off. no lube is going to fix that!

I ninja edited on you!
I'd throw a WTB up for a left shifter in the classifieds. I bet you'd shake out something.

Lol! I guess not!
