Was just recently linked to this video by a crazy fishing buddy who knows im having a custom bike built with this partially in mind. Its a nice little video with a nice premise. maybe soe of the fishing cyclists here, or simply conservationists will be interested.

Saw this the other day!

Recommended for sure. We were just steelheading last weekend on the Brule in Wisconsin. Caught one in six hours. Not exactly the easiest sport.

Season kicking off here too, i got one earlier in the week, none friday or saturday morning. I spend hours chasing steel, currently on the dry fly mission, trying to get them to eat surface skaters, man, thats a kick in the pants. we have some rain in the forecast, that should really heat things up.

Shoot me your address when you get a chance.

I've got a locally tied fly called a Spider X leg.

I'll mail you a couple to try. :)

You might get lucky with these out there, as they work well here for Steelies, big German Browns and even Smallmouth bass.

I liked watching that video - sent it to my friend who I met in 8th grade and we grew up camping and fishing together (he's now a commercial fisherman with his own boat in the bay area, CA). Oddly enough, my public middle school had an ichthyology class I took - it was an awesome class - our field trips were fishing trips to rivers, lakes and the last one was deep sea fishing where half the students got sick!

We also had one called "Survival of the Fittest" - we learned how to live off the land and our final field trip was to pack up our coffee tins with survival materials (garbage bags, fishing line, hooks, matches, etc) and build a shelter to sleep in overnight. We were paired up and we could see the group ahead and behind us, and the teachers/volunteer parents would come check up on us every hour during the night, but those were the 2 best classes I ever took. I'm sure it's an insurance nightmare and classes like these are not offered anymore.

Inspirational video. Thanks for posting.

I'm doing 4 days of bikepacking/fishing at the end of the month and counting on fish for food.
