Definitely appears to be the one he was selling a little while back.

Probably a Kestrel EMS fork not a Ritchey WCS, but who's counting.

Wow, I am sure the paint job cost at least twice the asking price...get the frame for free! Tis a very sad day...

Not as sad a day as Monday, when I was half an hour late getting in the house to put another bid on this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Serotta-Atlanta-Steel-Road-Bike-Frame-60cm-Handmade-in-USA-/263186963541?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=1S%252FDW7zq78tU35Ayr7v5Qz5WRoY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Or this complete one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Serotta-Atlanta-60cm-/352152492690?hash=item51fdec9a92%3Ag%3AmIsAAOSw5Fp ZoZq8&nma=true&si=1S%252FDW7zq78tU35Ayr7v5Qz5WRoY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

These prices are kind of depressing for Serotta fans.

I need to investigate an eBay sniper program - though that could be dangerous in my hands...

Same here. I've never looked into it because I buy too much stuff already.

Well it looks like the winner for the $151 frame was a late-bidding sniper so there is no telling how much higher you would have needed to bid to beat him. There:feel better now? :)

It looks like the guy who bought/listed Jeff's Atlanta is just trying to break even. I wonder if he built it up and decided it didn't fit? I don't think he went to all this effort just to score the cages. :-)

High end steel prices are in the toilet. I suppose it could be market saturation, with the preponderance of custom builders, or perhaps simply a decline in name recognition and perceived value.

I suspect that, with a few exceptions, the price of custom steel and Ti frames from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s may well be tanked for good.

I sold a Pogliaghi with custom paint for $432.00. I let it go because I just can't bear to look at it, sitting in my office, anymore.

I'll probably take a loss on a few more, too.

It happens. I do have a nice collection of cages and misc. accouterments from my buying/selling sprees ;)

Really nice frameset. Just a hair beyond my specs for reach.

It's the disc/fattie-tire situation I think - combined with the number of companies now making off-the-peg 4130 frames from Taiwan.

I'd still have liked to buy your S&S coupled frame, just can't justify it with the lack of business travel I'm doing these days.

There is a really, really sweet custom steel rig in my size on the Bay right now...not going to out it too easily, but its from a builder that a Paceline'r just got their Ti frame from...
