It has been a long time since I was last in Phoenix, and I've never been in Savannah more than 24 hours.

Upcoming trips to both, staying precisely downtown in both, and have enjoyed Paceliners' restaurant recommendations in the past . . . so what do you recommend?

Thanks in advance!

Binkley's in Phoenix is stunningly good. Very pricey but maybe the best dining experience you'll have this side of the French Laundry.

Not high end by a long stretch, but damn good: Los Dos Molinos in PHX. Two locations. The Adovado Ribs are absolutely delicious.

The restaurant at Sanctuary at Camelback is a scene if you want that.

The Arrogant Butcher is pretty good if you want to get your steak on.

Scottsdale will have much better restaurant options than Phoenix atmo

That said, all depends on what you're looking for and what kind of price range. Lon's at Hermosa Inn has some of the Valley's best dishes but for party of two and nice bottle you're looking at $200+. http://www.hermosainn.com/lons/

Olive and Ivy has amazing food, great patio, knowledgeable staff and really fun atmosphere. Best part about this restaurant is location so once you're done you can take stroll down waterfront and people watch.

Mexican restaurants abound in Arizona, but don be fooled, Bario Queen is bar far the best ;)

A favorite spot for our date nights is always Cowboy Ciao, I HIGHLY recommend the wild board meatball app

Lastly, if you're looking for cool atmosphere, very reasonable prices, young crowd and excellent food then you can't go wrong with The Vig (5 locations in valley)

Enjoy your stay!

I will add Taco Guild to the list for downtown PHX -- great ambiance (in an old church). Rethrey Sekong is an excellent Cambodian place near downtown PHX. Cibo has excellent pizza. One of my Italian friends is a big fan. Be prepared to wait, though. These three are somewhat north of true downtown PHX. The area by the stadium and arena (true downtown PHX, IMHO) is not great for eating.

For BBQ, Little Miss BBQ is pretty amazing. I find it on par with Franklin's in Austin. We've resorted to ordering in advance at both places to avoid the lines.

I've been to Binkley's when it was in Cave Creek and it was a solid upscale dining experience (not up to French Laundry standards but above average).

I've been to Bink's Midtown twice (at the Osborn address which is where the new Binkley's has moved this year), both times were terrible experiences (super dry pork will do that).

I second Lon's at the Hermosa Inn, but we always use it for brunch on our way to the airport to head home. Nothing better than having brunch on the patio.

I love that place. Oh, I like Lolo's too. When it was the original place downtown.
