edit - anyone with neuropathy - and shoes you are using?

Due to diabetic neuropathy having good deal of pain, especially shoes that contract front of my feet. My regular walking shoes are relatively flat, but my specialized pro's, have decent amount of curvature. Wondering if there is a shoe that is overall flatter, as well as decent width.

thx
Steve

My (older) northwave razor sbs's have pretty flat soles and are among the roomier options for toe box width.

Go visit D2 and get shoes made for you.

If you have a flex spending account or good medical coverage, maybe you can get some of the cost covered if your MD substantiates a medical need for shoes?

sorry to hear steve.

To help with constriction there are the customs mentioned above, the lintamans (http://www.lintaman.com/)
or the new Lakes MX241 (https://www.facebook.com/looneysonya/videos/1454594844591765/)

I think sole stiffness is also of concern, (look at diabetic footwear designs) and would consider one of the high volume shoes with a diabetic insole if you've developed "insensitive feet" secondary to the neuropathy.

good luck

No problem. Definitely get good insoles, I use Soles for my cycling shoes or a new balance one if my metarsalgia is really bad. Bonts are flat too.

Apparently the lakes will come in road (https://www.bikerumor.com/2017/04/27/soc17-lake-cycling-mx421-endurance-mountain-bike-shoe-adjusts-fit-foot/) but this adjustability depending on your pain seems like potential positive. I will be looking into the lakes myself after years in sworks pro, shimano r321 and bonts.

Also consider visiting your doc for DM neuropathy meds if you haven't, accupuncture and also rubbing capsacin cream to help some of the pain.
