GvA was doing too much work, sitting agitated on the front for the last 30 km. One needs to be that careful during the cobbled classics, but he burned unnecessary matches today. At one point, he was in a small group just up the road.

Would it have made a difference? Who knows. But why work when you know things are going to come back together
