It's leaning towards me getting a Gunnar Hyper-XX custom, and I will be looking for a carbon fork for it. 12mm thru axle.

I'd like clearance for 45mm tires, 38mm with fenders, so fender mounts wanted.

The #1 contender appears to be the Seven Matador fork at $565.. TRP is about $430 but clearance is 40mm and I seem to have trouble finding a 12mm thru axle w/ fender mounts for less than retail.

Parlee- but they are also not cheap.

Whisky fork is a bit cheaper-

The Whisky is really nice, but is 15mm thru axle, if that makes a difference.

Yes, Parlee but 40mm clearance, not sure how much with fenders. Most expensive but lightest i think..

Whiskey doesnt come in a 12mm as stated..

Enve are nice too but the one that has 45mm clearance does not have fender mounts..

There is also the SPORK but it's heavy so no thanks

I had the Parlee gravel/cx fender fork on Firefly-510 (https://www.flickr.com/photos/fireflybicycles/albums/72157663729882800). It fit an actual 38mm tire with ample clearance under a PDW fender, but it was tight with a 700x42 and fenders.
This same fork fits a 650x48 under a Planet Bike Cascadia (https://www.flickr.com/photos/fireflybicycles/albums/72157683659063655) fender.

Also, see Seven's forks (https://www.sevencycles.com/accessories/forks.php)....the Matador.

Personally, I'd get the fork that fit my needs best regardless if it was 12x100 or 15x100. Aside from a dynamo, I do not intend on owning disc wheels in the future that do not have easily convertible hubs.

The TRP fits a 700x42 easily... I fit mine with Compass Snoqualmie Pass tires with room to spare, but I don't have the fender version or know what fits with fenders.

Cool thanks!
I dont think the fender version is any different other than having fender mounts..Thus far (no rush) I cannot find the 12mm version w/ fender mounts below MSRP so the Seven Matador seems to be #1 still..

Seven Matador seems to be #1 still..
Good choice. If I were to do it again, I would pick the Seven Matador also. The clearances look generous. It has a bit more rake, and it also has a crown hole which would make for a convenient headlight mount.

Having no idea if they do thru axles, what about Wound Up?

They don't, nor do they do tapered steerers. : /

If one accepts the added weight of a Wound-Up, then an even better choice is a steel fork which has arguably better ride quality than any of the carbon forks mentioned. Gunnar/Waterford steel forks are quite nice.
...or a Potts Mini-Type II fork.

I just reached out to Gunnar about their uni-crown fork. It's going to be heavy but may be the other way to go

Probably not enough clearance for what you want, but I was always curious about the Columbus Trekking fork--price is certainly attractive:
