ot: Steve Winwood still alive and going strong

I will miss him next weekend when he comes to town but just saw a concert he did on AXS TV on xfinity. He won't live forever so you might want to see him the next time he's close. Some lose it, but he's still him. Remembering:

I had the fortune of seeing him at the Austin City Limits Music Festival a number of years back. Fantastic show. He and the band played Dear Mr. Fantasy as the sun was setting under a purple sky. The guitar work was incredible. It was surreal and is one of my all time favorite concert memories.

saw him a few years back and a true mark of a great musician is if he/she sounds better live than in studio. winwood falls into the former category for sure. can only imagine how good he must've been in his prime.

Agree on Winwood. I've seen him twice in the last six years. He put on a fantastic show. Also saw him at Crossroads with Clapton. Made me come home and play my Blind Faith LP.

Saw him in San Antonio in 1986. Still remember what a great concert it was.

Never heard his music before but dig that OM45!

He played a free 4th of July in Chicago a few years ago. Magic.
Someone sampled part of the chorus from Valerie in a dance track.
Winwood didn't like the quality of the sample, so he had the producer
of the track come to his home studio and Steve re-recorded it for him.
Unpacking my Winwood and Steely Dan LP's tonight.
