Does SRAM make a front derailleur with a clamp attachment?

Am I stuck buying a braze on clamp adapter?

Yes, you must use an adapter clamp. SRAM makes a good clamp. Your only problem would be getting one that matches all other components in a 28.6mm size. A 31.8 and 34.9 are easy to get.
