Folks,

I bought this from the original owner approx 2 years ago. This bike had been on display in a Chicago area bike shop for 20 years. Whilst the bike has been built once, it has NEVER been ridden (look at bb cable guides) ... there is a nick or two on the dropouts, but nothing you can really capture.

This is not a team bike, as they were not made with the pump peg, or internal brake routing. Rather it was a team commencement frame that could be ordered.

This frame is a 54l, and hence has a 54 c-c seat tube, and a 55 cm top tube...

This is truly a once in a lifetime chance. I also have a mint condition 1994 Campagnolo Record groupset to go with the bike incuding a wheelset (they are tubulars). As well as the Chorus monoplaners that were used instead of the deltas.

I also have the appropriate Syncros Stem in new condition in a couple lengths...

Why would I ever sell this amazing piece of history? Because I already have an actual team frame, and I want to share the joy!

Price includes frame and fork as well as shipping and insurance. I am firm on the price considering the price of new steel frames today, and what I paid for this one. I can also press in a new Campagnolo Record headset for the buyer if requested.

PM me if interested!

StephenCL!

Now that is stellar. My size? Yes. Dream Bike? No doubt. Have the funds? Sadly, no. Good luck with the sale. That's a beauty.

Was 'CRL' an actual model name, or is it actually an 'Atlanta' frame? Any idea on the seat tube angle?
This is a very tempting frame (since no one will sell me a 54 MX leader.....thanks a lot guys......)...

This was the last year prior to the CSI... CRL was actually a lighter version of the CR and is a model.

The seat angle is 73, just like an mxl of the same era. This is almost a pound lighter than an mxl and almost as stiff...

It is not an 853, as 853 was made by Reynolds, and this is columbus tubing..

Gorgeous. Someone needs to buy this and honor it by riding the living s**t out of it. Not my size, sadly.

Absolutely do not blame you. I would have rode that sucker even if it didn't fit. Or would have hung it on a wall and stared at it all day. In my opinion that is a grail bike hands down. Matt
