Unemployed for the first time in 30 years. First weekday off without a job. Start a new job tuesday so the joy is short lived. Bought a new bike yesterday so...... ride it is. :hello:

you missed a golden opportunity. should have taken a month off between jobs. as a working professional, most people rarely get the opportunity to take more than a week or two of leave.

congratulations on the new job though. still in the diesel biz?

This. Got a smokin deal on it from my LBS. rode it last night about 40 miles. Hate it. This Futureshock thing sucks. Makes the front end feel slow and mushy. Its smooth but I dont like it at all. Will ride the Serrotta today.

Count your blessings. Many in your position have had to deal with extended time looking for a job. Enjoy your new bike.

seatpost looks excited, so it's got that going for it.

Sell it if the lbs won't take it back(see 'smokin' deal)...kinda in the marketing sweet spot now....discs, shimano, squishy front end.

Its actually very compliant. Just too compliant for my liking.

Did you take a test ride before buying it?

Good on ya!

I drove a T600 for 6 months during summer harvest the summer after I graduated college. :hello: Pardon my trucker joke:

Old truckers never die, they just get a new Peterbilt :)

And I agree with others.......shoulda taken more time off.

That bike got a positive review from randonneur legend Ken Bonner: https://www.roadbikerider.com/product-reviews/stuff-that-goes-on-bikes/bikes/2892-specialized-roubaix-expert-model.

Just had a two month break between gigs. If you can swing it, I absolutely recommend the time off.
