Sure, you can say that the name on a bike doesn't matter, and I wouldn't disagree, at least not until considering riding this thing around town.....

Tre tubi...?

I dunno, but once a bike has "FAGGIN" emblazened on it, all else is irrelevant.

if I recall correctly, Faggin (pronounced fa-zeen) has been around a long time and Faggin and Faggini are not so strange Italian surnames. So, yes - maybe here in the us the bike would get some odd looks, but not else where.

One of my frequent ebay searches is for a Faggin! If I found one in mint condition, I'd be all over it (so to speak)
I'd probably be bidding agianst Kevan and Sandy......

I remember way back that Excell sports used to sell a frame called the Faggin slx king. It had a white, red and green fade...I thought it was cool and never thought the name sounded odd or strange.

say it out loud, Fah-Zeen. You are right, it doesn't sound strange at all.

unlikely to be sl tubing. as the frame sizes got larger they would substitute sp tubing for an obviously larger rider.
like: a 55 might have a sp downtube a 56 might have a dt and stays, 57 dt, stays and maybe tt, etc
a tube here, a tube there... by the time you get to 60 its all sp.
tubing is same quality but thicker.
they used to call them all sl implying that they were lighter.
faggin was a pretty well known brand. have not heard the name in 20 yrs probably... like pogliaghi kind of....

Uptight?

Yup,
you couldn't get a sewing needle up my a$$ with a jackhammer.

put a charcoal briquette up my a$$ and 30 minutes later you have a diamond.

I just don't want my bike's name to be associated with cigarettes, that's all.

And, if my name were Faggin, yeah, I'd tell everyone it was pronounced something like "Fah zeen", too. Wait, no I wouldn't. I would go down to the court house and get a legal change to Fazeen.

Whew. Now I feel just a little less uptight. Tomorrow's a 90-miler with some big climbs. That'll help too.

Tah.

I used to want a Faggin back in the late eighties. They were known as sweet bikes. I believe "Tre tubi" refers to the fact that the top, seat and down tubes were made from SL while the rest of the frame was standard chromoly.

Some would call that a real find if the price were right..utilitarian on abudgetracer and all that or a top notch fixie.

Enjoy the ride :)

Yo charcoal butt. If you get that FAggin frame and ride if to a pig pickin' in North Carolina I'll let you borrow my cute neon yellow 90's Italian Fago jersey. It will be certain to get you run over by a pickup with big tires.

And thanks, but I don't seem to need any assistance with being target practice for duallies around here!
