View Full Version : For those who know your bars... (similar to Enve in 26.0?)

Probably a long shot with 31.8 bars being rampant, but I'm 95% ready to build up my newest toy and hitting a road block with the bars. Even though I posted way earlier this year looking for an alternative to Enve standard drops, I've grown to love this bar. The flat tops, the deep drops... they're the whole package. Now I just can't seem to find anything in 26.0 that's very close. I've got some assorted 'vintage' bars, but as you probably suspect, the bends are all wrong. The Enves kind of do this continuous bend instead of flattening out at the bottom which I think is mostly why I like them so much.

26.0, prefer silver but black OK, 44 width. Using DA 9001 shifters.
Here are some I've considered, with their faults.
Let me know what exists!

-Soma Hwy One: reach is short and drop isn't enough. Otherwise not bad.
-80's 3ttt Campione Del Mondo: annoying flat bottom of drop, closer to parallel than some bars though, so there's that...
-Cinelli 64-44: just doens't feel right in the hooks to me.
-Deda Elementi Speciale: bend just looks all wrong, aka not enough of it.
-Cinelli Nerve anatomic: kinda works, but hard to find and the pair I have are reserved for another bike. I'm kinda meh toward anatomic anyway.

ETA I know I won't find any 26.0 bars, or even non carbon with the flat tops and gentle slope down from the stem that the Enve has and I'm OK with that.

Sim works is doing a 26.0 bar in varying widths. I cannot speak to the curve or reach, but specs are here.. http://sim-works.com/en/nitto/co-misirlou-bar

Whoa, that curve actually doesn't look too far off!
Checking more into those now.

Interesting. Want to post or send me a picture, including one of the side profile? Are they pretty stiff? My gripe with quill stems is the flex, so wouldn't want to add to the issue. I only say this because I've heard older carbon is noodley, but that may all be made up internet garbage.

Those Simworks look so perfect, but I don't think I want to drop QUITE that much if it can be avoided.

Anyone have the Dimension 'short drop'? Looks interesting, but I can't for the life of me figure out why nobody posts side views so you can see the bend.

I found the reach numbers on the enve and matched it with these bars. I've owned both enve compacts and these. They're my favorite bar and at a great price on eBay ($68-78 new)

Plenty of US dealers (http://sim-works.com/en/dealers) selling SimWorks, maybe someone local to you. I bought a set of Marcella bars from Jeremy Sycip (local frame builder), since he had a big order himself he didn't ask for shipping $ and, of course, it was local pickup.

I definitely saw the US dealer list and checked through 80% of them. Judging by the lack of stock by them, it must be a mostly special order item :-(
