my UltraGatorskin clinchers have been flat-proof so far and ride well.

I'm with Ken Robb. We have a lot of tar and chip roads. No flats in three years. Knock on wood.

The gatorskin Sprinters don't seem to ride any different from Sprinters -- they're both a little bit rough, very pressure sensitive, and not as supple as a Veloflex but stabler on rough surfaces. The ones I just tried were a bit lumpy, but that's just the natural variability of Sprinters. Adhesion was the same. I like the new slick tread, but from experience can say that it doesn't stick on wet leaf mulch as well as a file tread, once leaves have fallen and begun to rot on the roads -- the non-gatorskin Sprinters have the same tread, so this isn't a comment about this one tire only. The gatorskins are a bit harder to prestretch and the prestretch doesn't last as long as on regular Sprinters. Otherwise I don't see a difference (except in price, of course).
