Starting August 19, Bruce Gordon Cycles will be selling off 47 years of cycling history. All bikes, components, racks, frames, wheels, fixtures, and tools will be heavily discounted. The only stuff not being sold at this time is Bruce’s personal collection of bicycles.

New Rock n’ Road tires and new stainless toeclips will be sold at the regular price, but everything else must go. This is a great opportunity to stock up on vintage cycling equipment and help one of the living legends of framebuilding retire. All sales will be by APPOINTMENT ONLY, in person at Bruce Gordon Cycles, on a first-come, first-served basis. Make your appointment today by calling the shop: (707) 762-5601 or Bruce's cellphone: (707) 762-4107.

Hmmm maybe a little delayed? I took a deep breath and decided to try and focus (tough now these days) through what turned out to be a great interview posted here: https://www.bikerumor.com/2017/10/27/bruce_gordon_final_interview/

I remember...I remember reading an older bike mag and coming across the Bruce Gordon Rock N Road bike. Had to be one of first "gravel" bikes. Versatility was talked about. I hadn't ever seen one, nor other Bruce Gordon bike. Does anyone out there have one and care to share some photos or stories?

This was his NAHBS bike from a few years ago. Not mine. Now resides with Wayne Bingham at Velo Classique in Purcellville VA:

Stopped by Bruce's shop (3 blocks from our house) on the way to the market with absolutely no plans to buy a bike. Oops !

Better half absolutely loves Bruce's Ti lugged carbon fiber tubed masterpiece, but we just couldn't swing it (she's got the same inseam as Bruce). Then she sees this, "can we ?". She needs a MTB and this fit the bill so yes.

So cool!

My friend went Friday and said some LA kids bought so much stuff it probably wasn’t worth me coming Saturday unless I wanted a complete bike.

I realize this is a picture of beautiful lug work, but I think it is hilarious to have a seatpost with height hashmarks sticking out of frame that has no level section to match the marks to.

That was my expectation as well since I'd spent all of Friday and Saturday in Berkeley. When we showed up some guy had bought Bruce's entire inventory of racks, I'm going to guess it was near 100. Curtis Inglis and Mike Varley were there helping out and beer was flowing (I passed believe it or not).

Kind of sad, Bruce did not appear to be in a good place.

Bruce is really ready to move on to the next phase in his life, but it can't happen without getting rid of his bikes.

All showbikes – everything in his personal collection – priced at $2500.

Some Titanium, some Steel, all built with top-end, era-correct components.

Most are 63x58, but several are built for smaller folks. Check out the pics below. These actual bikes are all for sale, as well as over a dozen more (including a fully modern 53x53 RnR bikepacking rig).

Willing to ship from a local bike shop (buyer pays S&H). For more information, call the shop at (707)762-5601.

That titanium Rock-n-Road is sooooooo cool! The custom fork crown to create a 700c fork, the Paragon Ti rings and one of only 2 titanium Rock-n-Roads built by Bruce and Wes.

I had assumed all the bikes left would be ginormous, but I'll have to stop by the shop if this 53c one is still there. I just saw Bruce at the MMBHoF holiday dinner last week.

Retirement. Probably kicking back and enjoying it. From his blog the recent crash and recovery maybe put some things in perspective for him.

To be even close to Bruce's geo would present some kid in candy store opportunities. I contemplated a couple that I've lusted after for years, just too far off in fit. Nice score biketrike.

His bikes are a good fit for me, but it seems like too much work to figure out what is available.

Anyone know where that rust-colored frame was painted. Were most of his frames painted by Ed Litton? Really love the pink/teal/rust colors, and was considering having it repainted.

Thanks!
