Anyone riding SRAM Rival 1 on Road?

Just built up a new project with a new SRAM Rival 1 Road set up on a Serotta Colorado Ti. 42 front and 11/42 rear because I'm a weakling. Will post pics soon.

Anyone else have experience with Rival 1 or Force 1 on the road?

I have most of my bikes set up as 1x with SRAM Force. I use the CX-1 RD because it seems to work best in the 1X set up. I have run a regular long cage Force RD as well without problems. I live in FL and I find an 11-28 is good enough for most every thing (I run a 50 up front). Not sure what to say, but I don't miss the FD, I don't miss the small ring, to me it makes sense, but you have likely started a very interesting thread. :))

1x Force user here. 2 years on it and loving it. Zero dropped chains, plenty of gears, expecially with 11sp now. SRAM CX1 chain on my cross bike and Red22 chain on my road bike, both shift fine but the other CX1 chain I had on my road bike had some binding happenening on a few links and needed to be replaced after 1500 miles. I use the Clutch Force RD on my CX bike and the WiFli on my roadie. No complaints, simple, easy to adjust, and quiet.

Using Rival 1 on my groad bike.

The gearing gaps are an issue at the bottom I think. For a dedicated road bike I think you'd need to think hard about the gearing selection and your needs.

I use rival 1 levers with a GX rear derailleur on one of my bikes (http://forums.thepaceline.net/showpost.php?p=2214899&postcount=28). 44x11-36. I've really enjoyed riding it so far, and that includes in some fairly mountainous terrain in western MA. There's certainly no issue with getting the low gear one wants, in that one can use any size chainring and a wide-range cassette. I understand why some folks like a taller top gear, but I don't really pedal when I'm descending rough roads or off-road, so I don't fully buy that argument for my own purposes.

Otherwise, **** just works so far. Silent, shifts crisply.

42x11-36 when I go somewhere with climbing. Definitely some gaps at the low end as FlashUNC mentioned.

44t 11-42 on the back. Love it. Lots of range. Not on my main go fast bike, more an all rounder so don't mind the gaps.

On my drop bar dirt bike 40t 10-42 which works great as well.

Don't think I could tolerate the gaps on my pure road bikes where not having the right gear on that climb at km 150 feels like the worst thing ever.
