This kit is in excellent condition. I think this kit is a late 1980's production.

Asking $2300, shipped in the CONUS. You pay PayPal fees. OBO

The BB taps, and their matching pilots for facing have ENGLISH threading and appear in excellent condition. The crown race cutting die and the BB facing cutter appear sharp. The fork threading die and the headtube reamer and facer appears unused (as do many of the other tools)

The set is missing a few tools:

1. crank extractor
2. headset cup extractor
3. cup of grease
4. small brush
5. the vinyl tool pad

The set has a few additional tools:

1. a second set of cone wrenches (both a 13 X 14, and a 15 X 16). The tool kit normally comes with one pair of cone wrenches. This set has two pairs.

Defects:

The insertion handles that install the BB pilots prior to facing are bent. Almost every set I've ever seen has had the same defect. Doesn't affect performance.

The fork crown race setting tool is completely functional, but ugly. It looks like someone grabbed the tool with a pair of channel locks.

The bar to increase rotational leverage on the BB cup extractor has been cut off by 1/2". I did this because one end was mangled.

I am extremely familiar with these tool sets. Feel free to email if you have questions.

It is important to picture it because there's a few tiny tools that are always missing of those boxes you know.

Photobucket can eat shyte and die with their new $400 ransom offer. Sorry Photobucket why should I pay you $400 when other photo hosting sites are available for $0.00. Hope you enjoy going out of business.

I have only seen two of these in person.

It is mind-blowingly cool and I can only imagine supremely useful in the proper (not mine) hands.

Love that you are "extremely familiar" with it.

I owned a bike shop for over twenty years, starting in 1974. Theses tool kits were essential for working on quality bikes in that era. Most frames we sold needed to be faced, chased, dropouts aligned, etc. I also built my own frame in 1975 while a custom builder was working in my shop. I sold my store in the 1990's and bought this set as a nostalgia piece . . . Stupid really. It should go to someone who can use it.

Last bump before this goes to the Bay . . . If no one here is interested, I'll list the kit at some point on October.
