While the demise of the iPod Shuffle has been rumored for the past 5 years, yesterday Apple announced the end of the iPod Shuffle and also the iPod Nano (The iPod Touch will be the only iPod available).

I like the iPod Shuffle and am sorry to see it go. It is the perfect device for workouts (yes, I use it when I ride, but on very low volume).

For anyone wanting one, the best price I found was Walmart (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Apple-iPod-shuffle-2GB-Assorted-Colors/46088119?variantFieldId=actual_color) (free shipping) — I just bought an extra one today.

Another nano fan here. Just picked up my gen6 warranty replacement yesterday. Small, clip for running.

Looking at the price ($150) of the current gen nano not surprised; would have picked up a $50 Sandisc MP3 if they would not have warrantied

agree that it's too bad they are being discontinued.

i use mine all the time at the gym and on the trainer in the basement. i dont want or need my large phone when i just want to listen to tunes in sweaty environment.

Lack of sales killed it. Too bad.

That's how I got mine, but still very rarely use it since I've got BT headphones for using on the rollers.

Every time I saw them for sale, I wondered how much longer they'd be available. Can't say I'm surprised. Just disappointed that the perfect tool is going away.

I used to love my Sansa player, rockboxed. But as my phone got better & better, it just made no sense to drag around another unit. I'm surprised it lasted this long.
