Frostbite Falls, MN is a little colder without Rocky and Natasha.

voice of most of the cartoons of childhood. Chuck Jones is reported to have said, "June Foray is not the female Mel Blanc, Mel Blanc was the male June Foray." RIP

I have to admit ignorance that she did so many voices. I always thought it was just Rocky and Natasha. Very talented woman.

Wow. Did not even remember Natasha lived in my neck of the woods. I've got a cousin from there ;)

RIP June Foray. Thank you for entertaining me.

“If you can’t believe what you read in the comic books,” Rocky asks, “what can you believe?”

"No pun was too awful, no malaprop too shameless. Rocky trained at Cedar Yorpantz Flying School. Bullwinkle’s alma mater was Wossamotta U. A jeweled toy boat, the Ruby Yacht of Omar Khayyam, sailed across Veronica Lake. “For a powerful magnate,” Rocky tells a tycoon, “you sure don’t pick up things too quickly.” In one episode, the heroes track a monstrous whale, Maybe Dick."

And those puns didn't even include Peabody & Sherman, Fractured Fairy Tales (with Edward Everett Horton), and Aesop's Fables!

The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show was really more for the adults than it was for us kids (unless you factor in the Cold War propaganda).

They are still "must watch" whenever I see them.

Growing up here we drove past Jay Ward Productions and the famed Rocky & Bullwinkle statue every Friday evening. I love almost everything they produced and, even as a kid, had an inkling that there was a level to the humor that I wasn't getting. I continue to enjoy them to this day, especially George of the Jungle. What a travesty that the ham-handed efforts to reuse the characters can't muster 1/100th of the cleverness of the originals.

One of my favorite lines is from Super Chicken…

SC: I can't see them.
Fred: Why don't you use your super vision?
SC: Don't be ridiculous, Fred, if I had any supervision would I be running around in this cape?

My favorite episode: hush-a-boom explosive. I read somewhere that Tom Clancy (I think) used the premise in one of his books.

She was older than Paul Frees (the voice of Boris Badenov), but outlived him by many years. He died in 1986.
