View Full Version : Not a Lance fan but the podcast was good

I'm definitely not a LA fanboy, but the Stages podcast was good. It's not a replacement for the live commentary, nor is it supposed to be. But the content was good, the perspective was interesting and in most (not all) of the episodes he did a good job keeping his past out of it so the show was about the race and how it looks to someone who knows it intimately. I've been stuck in a lot of airports recently, and it was an enjoyable way to kill the time. That surprised me.

I'm sure he's entertaining. He has a knack and knowledge for the things. Then again Roman Polanski makes great entertaining films. But based on their psychological abuse and physical assault actions, I boycott both.

I sure hope all that virtue signalling gets you somewhere.

Hardly virtue signalling as I'm not demonstrating my good character or moral correctness in an conspicuous way. Just made statement you inferred from. But damn EPO era racing was just more fun to watch.

I was not a fan of the show. Lance certainly offered some interesting "behind the scenes" stories from his racing days, but in general, the podcast seemed to be filled with a lot of fluff.

Lance likes to talk about himself, shoot down his co-host, name drop his friends, and listen to positive comments about himself. Additionally, there were several days where he mentioned he had to get going to do a bike ride or make a tee time and thus rushed his co-host to finish up the show. Why not schedule more time for the recording?

I am not a dyed in the wool Lance hater and I went into the podcast with an open mind. The analysis was a little weak.

Lance is good at the podcasting thing, and his analysis seems informed and pragmatic.

great podcast, good to hear from him, hope he does some more races.

I think it is funny that people who don't like lance can still somehow like his podcast. We are all filled with all sorts of little contradictions, part of being human I guess. This one cracks me up though, just get over it people.

I tried listening to one podcast, but didn't finish it. There was too much empty talk. I'm sure he has interesting things to say, but he takes a long time to get to the point.

I'd enjoy listening to a Lemond/Tillman podcast, in addition.
