I've an older frame with rust under the seatpost collar, corrosion by the cage bolt bosses and some by the headtube.

What's the best way to clean up this frame? Wool cloth? Sandpaper? Scoth-brite scour pads?

Brasso was the recommendation for general purpose cleaning from a ti-frame builder I know. If that doesn't do it you could try 0000 steel wool, but that is likely to leave a scratch pattern different from what you currently have.

it looks like a brushed ti frame. if thats the case, use a green scotch brite pad. lightly. unless you want to do the whole thing. around the bottle bolts, same thing or a dremel with a wire wheel.

I'd start with a scotchbrite wheel on a dremel, work my way up to varying grades of wet scotchbrite strips, or wet/dry sanding sponges. Hopefully the threads aren't shot on those bottle bosses.

Acetone will take care of those decals, if you're not sold on keeping them.

See post #12. This guy knows how to do it.

Burgundy coloured scotch brite pads from auto body supply shop will give you a standard brushed finish. Green pads are too abrasive. Get the grey pads if you want to go a bit brighter than a standard factory finish. Even light to moderate pressure by grabbing the ends of the pad and drawing the pad across the tubes. Easy to figure out as you go.

Rust? On titanium? Scotchbrite or 0000 steel wool. Lemon Pledge to just clean but rust

A small brass wire brush should clean up those spots without roughing up much else, or if you have a wire wheel and a dremel tool that would also work as they are pretty small areas.

Maybe it's the photo, but it looks like the tube is cracked. Is that just built up material on the tube?

I use red and green scotchbrite pads on my Ti frames.
I'd also replace the rivnuts for the bottle cages while you are working on it.
