Anyone have a purple bike? Love to see some pics people...

I have an incoming dark purple tinted carbon frame. Looking for ideas.
Thinking Silver headset, spacers, stem and seatpost
White saddle and bar tape (Handlebra of course)
White cables

Not sure how I'm gonna go with wheels - probably use what I have -
DA WH-7850-CL: 27mm tubeless clinchers though I think the red nipples are gonna clash (hmm, maybe be red cables?)

Purple with white looks nice, it's what I rode this summer. If you have white tape and saddle, white cable might be overboard. A little white goes a long way. I built this one up with black components and cables and liked it. Silver would also be nice, but I'd still use black cables. What color is the decal work going to be? The wheels could make or break it.

That is a sweet paint job! Did you do that after getting your frame from Parlee, or did the do it for you? Never seen a Parlee in color scheme like that.

This was Rkymtn's bike and I think he had it built and sent to Keith Anderson. Pedals? I don't need pedals, heck I don't ride this bike, I have it setup in the man cave like a pinup poster.

I was initially horrified when I first saw the red on the saddle on Keith A's Bottecchia. Then I scrolled down and saw the red accents and red tires and felt oh so much better.

Joachim, what frame is that? It is stunning. I fell asleep last night thinking about that.This is actually an older picture of the Bottecchia and it looks a little different now...plus I'm in the middle of swapping out the bars and stem as I want something more traditional rather than the Salsa stem that is on there now.

Cyclops built by Mike Mulholland of Toronto. built up with Dura Ace 7403. great ride and pretty stiff for old school steel. the True Temper really is a step above my other SLX bike.

That one is too big. But if it were a tiny 50 cm I think I would be in trouble. . . Just a perfect paint scheme IMHO. What's its history / plan?

Believe it or not, Gipiemme manufactures these rims themselves. They were sold to Campy and Campy labelled them as Shamal, Vento or Zonda, dependant upon the hub and spokes. Torreli also bought them from Gipimme for their deep dish wheels. Corima makes the deep dish carbon fibre rims for Campy, I had a set of Corimas that were, in my opinion, smoother than Boras as the hubs were much nicer---I think Hope made the hubs for Corima.

I got this after I wanted something stiffer than my Spirit frame. Took a bit longer but Im going to build it and ride for a few months until the Spectrum arrives and then maybe to the classifieds. Its a 55cm

On a ride today I was referred to as the "Purple People Eater" by a group that chased me (not cyclists I knew, mind you) to the top of the climb where this photo was taken:

Somehow we've ended up with a number of purple bikes: Trek Mountain Lion (kids bike), two older GT mountain bikes, Giant Innova hybrid/fitness bike, two Trek 930 purple to green fade mountain bikes (slightly different paint schemes from two different years)...and the only one I have a picture of right now is my Bottecchia ADR replica (this is an older picture and I need to snap another one with several changes).

I have a custom frame coming, and am trying to decide on a hue of purple. I have some purple ano Paul MiniMoto brakes and skewers, so the color will need to complement those:

this used to be mine. The frame that is. Before I divorced my ex wanted me to sell a ton of stuff. she said I didnt need it all. wasn't happy about it but i was trying to make my marriage work- it didnt!

I lost track of it and have since found it again. The guy has me in the #1 spot if he decides to sell it. Sadly he is using the wrong size post-27.0 instead of 27.2. Not sure why but i'm hoping if i get it back it's ok. I'd love to have it back.

I have a new "incoming" custom purple frame. Hard to describe the actual "shade" of purple but it's not lavender or light purple for sure. Probably closer to the either the DeRosa or Masi. I "found" the color on a mylar balloon, bought the balloon and sent a chunk of it to the painter to match. Can't wait to see it, always wanted a purple bike but could never find the "right" purple.

Anyone know the paint code that was used on the Masi 3V (most were painted in the US with Imron, so I'm assuming it was a standard color). Got my project bike and I'm finally thinking about dealing with it. The red they came in is cool, the green it is now is OK but that purple is excellent!

Vicious Slider after riding the 40 mile loop at the 2017 Rose Mountain Rumble and putting on a few extra miles helping the organizers sweep the final riders after lunch.

Really great ride put on by the crew in NH, although I am biased as kin to half of the core, and I look forward to doing the 100k next time. Was signed up for the 100k this time, but could not keep my breakfast down so swapped routes and was fortunate to gain strength as the ride progressed.

Should have taken pictures as I went but was focused on the ride. Really beautiful terrain and a well supported ride.

I actually bought this Austrian-built 1968 Sears 10 Speed because the color was different than anything I'd had.

With a longer stem and wider/deeper bars it handles sweet both in and out of the saddle. And a 6s Uniglide freewheel upgrade lets it get up and go in a much more contemporary way. I also added a zero-offset post (in odd 25.6mm size) to compensate for the relaxed frame angles.

Out on the road in the paceline, it's the axle wingnuts that get all the attention.

Cyclops built by Mike Mulholland of Toronto. built up with Dura Ace 7403. great ride and pretty stiff for old school steel. the True Temper really is a step above my other SLX bike.
