Road double with 73mm bottom bracket

I'm currently riding a DB Haanjo with SRAM mountain cranks with removable spider. If I were to through my road compact spider on there with a 36/50, would a standard road derailleur reach the extra few millimeters being a mountain spacing and not road spacing?

Yes it should do (or just use your current front mech?)

Chainrings not clearing the chainstays could be a problem.
