Good cycling clubs near Huntington Beach CA

Hi gang,
My brother-in-law just recently took up cycling. He's an ex-soccer player with legs like tree stumps and I'm afraid of what he'll be capable of when he gets fit. In the meantime, I was hoping that I could suggest to him a good club that would provide him with a safe learning environment AND enough group fun that he gets interested in taking it too the next level. Anyone got any good recommendations for clubs in the area? I'm up in Toronto, Canada so I'm kinda useless to him but do have a hidden agenda as I'd like to get him out riding with me when we head out to Palm Springs each winter for a visit.

Ouch...at this point I'm working hard to convince him that if the jersey is so loose that it doesn't looks geeky when he's off the bike, then the jersey is too loose.

At the risk of sounding hoity toity, he might consider RCC. I know it's pricey but they have a very inclusive attitude and the guys in Orange County are particularly great (I'm looking at you, Cento1).

La Grange is Statewide but mostly concentrated in the Los Angeles (West LA) area.
Huntington Beach is just past the "Orange Curtain" in Orange County, WAY to far of a drive to West LA.

Velo Allegro is a good club. He can start doing their rides to see if he fits in.

There's Velo Allegro, Lightning Velo (Long Beach), Canyon Velo (Yorba Linda), Velocity (Fullerton), and my club Kore (Fullerton, Buena Park). There's also Big Orange which is mainly in the PV, West Beach areas.
