The guy who does the fitting at Vecchios has a pair of these, also NOS...but he was asking about 1/3 that.
$1g a 'little' high, imho.

Don't think those are 'retro-friction' but just standard friction. I would have to see innards to be sure but they don't look 'deep' enough plus plastic spacer on frame side where retro-friction had brass spacer.

i cant see the simplex design having any remaining patent protection in the early'80s...maybe it came so late that they were looking forward at c-record (which did have a retrofriction variant) and indexing.

I raced in those shift levers and honestly? the friction setup of Suntour cyclone, 105 and simplex were a loooooooooooootttttttt better... For its time those levers were the bomb but when retrofriction came up like the standard the other firms did a lot better job than campagnolo.

For its time those levers were the bomb but when retrofriction came up like the standard the other firms did a lot better job than campagnolo.While I've never used the Super Record retrofrictions, I do regularly ride bikes with both Simplex and the later C-Record era retrofrictions. Other than the feel of the lever itself (the Simplex having a cutout) I don't think I could tell a difference in them if I was blindfolded....the Campy retrofrictions work great IMO.

I think you may be confusing the ones that Walter posted with the normal SR levers....they aren't those.
