Been awhile since I last did this. Lack of car sightings during rides, or at least interesting car sightings. As usual, a shot of some part of the car. You guys have been insanely good at guessing the cars in the past, like within usually 2 pics, maybe once until the third. Perhaps this one will be more difficult.

One of my best friends did a semester in London in 1967 and at the end his parents bought him one of the last 100 Austin Healey 3000 MK IIIs made to drive around Europe.

In the mid 1970s he was going to have some things done to the engine, including blueprinting, and the engine was taken apart. The mechanic then took a government job and closed his shop and the car has never been put back together. I stored it in my garage during the late 70s and early 80s. I have to start working on him again to get it on the road.

Colleague who was into cars and bicycles designed and built himself a garage mahal for his AH 3000 and Springfield Rolls Royce. He decided that the exposed tie beams would be perfect for hanging bikes not in need of immediate access, including his tandem. There was plenty of headroom, even over the Roller.

I visited him one day, and he sheepishly let me in the garage where the Healey hood was covered by a sheet of plywood and the windshield and passenger opening covered with a tarp. The tandem, which had landed on the front of the Healey was off to the side, not showing much damage; same could not be said for the car. Still, probably better that the Ghost was saved.

can't be an e-type, the op's blue pic is a car with what looks like side gills. and that straight seam isn't found on an e-type.

I was pretty sure someone would come up with the answer with the last 2 shots, small as they are. You guys do amaze me. This was on Col d'Izoard, 6 of them, all V-8's, or at least they sure sounded like V-8's, rumbling V-8's, sweet sound, all from GB, luggage on the racks, old folks out touring in their rather cool cars. Earlier there'd been a group of Porches but didn't bother with them, pretty common car to see anymore. So, end of this thread, cheers to all.

One of dads good friends used to have one of those so dad used to borrow it for school graduations and such. It was really neat and it was amazingly fast in the +8 verison (keep in mind i was likely 14 last i rode in one and its a cab but id bet it was 0-60 in around 6 seconds or so but could be off ofc).

Very nice looking cars. Strangely i wasent even close to guessing a morgan. Dident c the resemblance .)

The rear is tough as that pic looks like its a side shot but is more of a trunk shot actually.

Yeah interesting. Thats what i thought to myself as well when i cropped the image. Looks bit like the rare volvo 780 bertone, with me beeing from sweden and all that would not be a bad guess.. But this is a different animal .)

I think this particular model came around the time the US dident have an importer for the brand or something like that. Which is why there can't be many to c over there. Not that they are everywhere over here either..

When it came about it had the most horsepower / volume engine ever made to that date. Its italian and its freaking awesome .)

My first thought was that it must be that "deluxe" BiTurbo. My friend had a slew of the BiTurbos and I always thought he should have gotten one of the wide body version.

So I googled what you put and there it was. I never knew what those cars were called.

Ding Ding Ding!
The photos were of a 97 tho at least claimed to be.. That was the last year of production. 95 they got an overhaul but after that i dont know any specifics to separate the years. 94 brought on ABS and larger wheels as the ride height were very low on the first years and destroying parts on the under carriage was quite common. 95 they got ferrari rear axle and the pictured rims, the cars after that are considered the best in class i guess up till they stopped production around 97 (i think). There were a couple of different version, the ghibli cup with a few more hp and bit of tuning and another one which was more or less a track car.

Stock car produced 306 hp from a 2.0 liter block in 92 even with the help of double turbos. Record in those days.
