since I spotted this on ebay as an obvious non Moots.looks like an old rektek to me,maybe wrong but it ain't a moots..been up for several days by a reputable seller and would think a mfg like Moots would not be happy with this type of activity since some unsuspecting buyer will think he's getting a real vamoots and find out later they got scammed.
I did send an email to moots just to see what they thought or if they care.

If the price is right. Buy it and strip the decals. Dosent look like a bad frame, but Moots its not.

The shop that is selling it seems to pretty reputable. When I saw the listing I thought it looked odd too

Pretty shady dealings. I'm sure the serial number would clarify what this frame is. The fact that it's missing the head badge(holes are still there where one was located) and looks to be very well used along with the misrepresentation is enough to stay away from anything the "reputable" seller has to offer. Especially if it's been brought to their attention.

sure that's a moots. i think it comes with a bridge with purchase as well.

Once upon a time- Moots did not use Heat tube badges- They used a decal- I think it had the gator on it.

But this is not a Moots- they have used Breezer style dropouts for as long as I can remember

funny,it seems it is a big deal to Moots.Butch,the President of Moots emailed me back Monday to thank me for bringing it to his attention and s/w the people listing it and they said they didn't know it wasn't a moots.they quickly corrected and relisted as a "Rektek not a moots"

This is definitely a big deal for any company whose product, intellectual property, etc. is being misappropriated. It harms Moots as much as the buyer. Kudos to Mr.President for brining it to Moots' attention and/or contacting the seller.

A few weeks back I posted a PSA about a listing of a Ti MTB that was titled "Moots design by Kokopelli." Not sure if it is still listed or not. Had Moots decals on it. Some were on backwards and what not. At least the ad said it was actually a Kokopelli, but why put Moots decals on it? And I don't think it was designed by Moots. Hate folks trying to sell bikes that are not legit.
