Okay, it's a rainy day here and I've come up with a contest for all of us to enjoy. This forum is full of photos exhibiting beautiful bicycles, now go out there and find the ugliest damn creations you can find on the worldwide web. True...I have a head start, but it's my game.

I especially like the saddle setup on this one:

The stem is long enough, what's the problem? :)

Wow - we have a winner! Right out of the gate.

Hoopty bikes are everywhere, but it takes some serious dementia (and cash) to create this beast. I thing Craig should repo his frame - I wouldn't want my name on anything looking like this.

homemade krylon paintjob... check
6 inches of spacers under the stem... check
homemade jingo decals all over the frame... check
bike two sizes too small... check
mongoose frame, because "it's titanium, dude"... check
tires chosen because you need to match that yellow pinstripe... check

You are so out of your league. Have you even looked at the bikes above? That might be lacking class in many ways, but come on!

I know, who would put Shimano on a bike!?

you need to consider the context

the bikes above are merely utility bikes for people likely uninterested in bikes themselves (okay, except for the bamboo thing or the "time machine")--the jingo-ride is a dream machine for it's owner

it's pure camp

A Nagasawa? Noooo!

The owner has gone a little over the top with the gold though.

but ugh!

Doesn't the spray paint graffiti belong on that storefront's security gate and not on the bike?

kevan, that one takes the cake. the lever location, the dual bar end and downtube shifter setup, the bar titlt, the saddle tilt, the hoopty paint job, the curious single water bottle cage location. the platform pedals. the massive reflector. ugly. but richly so -- the more you look, the more you discover layers of effed up.

grant, the story on that bike is that guy had severe back problems. so, he gets off. why you would want ksyriums on a bike if you had severe back issues is another question, but the bike itself was a solution to a very real problem.

"fast attack" is just wrong.

Not really ugly but you have to get used to it.

funny

but cold.

youz a hata, obtuse.

if a guy with a broken up back wants to ride a bike and he can afford a legend, hey, why not have one made that will allow him to do what he wants with a minimum of pain? in context, that isn't ugy. naw that bamboo-bozo-no-no is a whole other deal...why do you have zipps and aerobars on a bike that is clearly set up *not* to be stable over 20mph? mp.

Kines

OK something's wrong with me. I kinda like the bamboo! But of course I'm talking only about what's below and to the left of the headset. Above the headset - yikes.
