Those hubs look even better in silver. What protects the AL from corrosion? Do you apply some good wax when you are done polishing?

Well, thats the thing... once you polish you have to be sure of cleaning that often or the stains will appear big time. My only question is... how in the world he applied the logo?"... chemical etching?

Here's pricing. Too bad skewers aren't polished.

Those are awesome. The logo looks like a clear decal.

From my calculation, about $175 CAD for the polishing job based on Ribble pricing for the hubs.

Not bad. If it's coated after the polish, even better.

Just to sound offensive to many here, if campy made polished record disc hubs ..... Mmmmmmmmmmm - so awesome.

I agree they look great, though I wouldn't expect the decals to last too long.

That said, $125 upcharge isn't bad knowing how much work it takes to strip, polish, and rebuild hubs.

A tangential note: I have some vintage c-record cranks with screened logo in need of polishing. I've sometimes wondered if I could convince a jeweler to etch in the shield logo if I stripped & polished them, but I'm afraid of the cost and risk of a botched job.

I was going to say the same. I got a quote from him and found it very reasonable. It's not cheap, but it was lower than I expected and very reasonable considering the work and skill involved. I'm still tempted to send him a group...

I know it's not for everyone, but Fyxo down in Australia did a DIY post a few years back on how to do this yourself.

Here's the link (http://fyxo.co/diy-strip-polish-alloy-components/#1)

The reason I suggested him is because I have just taken delivery of a polished and engraved Potenza group from him. His work is amazing plus, he's a dream to deal with.

I dont think they look that good tbh. Much rather ca 2001-- original silver hubs.
