These bikes look fun. Examples would be:

Raleigh Redux: https://www.raleighusa.com/redux-1

Electra Moto 3i: http://www.electrabike.com/bikes/cruiser/moto-3i?g=mens

I can see my self having some fun around town on one.

Not currently. Yes they can be fun. When I had my Retrotec, it was setup 1x9 with Vulpines for city and river bottom riding. Lot of fun.

The Redux is 27.5" for what it's worth.

That said, they're among the most fun bikes I've ridden. We've had two at our shop for a couple years, we love riding the things, everyone who rides them loves them. It's truly been almost two years that we've had the two of them in the shop, sold none of them.

Everyone loves riding em, comes back with big smile, but won't buy em.

We just rent them now, people dig em. Super fun bikes.

I commute and grocery get on a 1st gen Salsa Fargo with Schwalbe Big Apples. The plump tires really do a lot to smooth out he ride over our bad roads. I am also a fan of the flared Woodchipper drop bars.
