It is a great idea the thing is... how far is the reach of the signal, not the same track something that is in your home than if the thing is 50 miles away.

Hmm looks like it does that... this is a product I would buy... put it inside of the frame and good to go. If you find the frame you will find the other parts for sure.

I have the tiles on all my keys because I'm a dumbass and the new smart keys are expensive. They rely on Bluetooth and having a Tile user within about 100 feet of the tracker. I live in Tucson and according to the app there are usually about 400 users in the vicinity so I think you'd have a good chance that one of those users would get close enough to see the tile. The one thing that I don't like is the battery isn't replaceable so you have to replace the entire thing about every 12 months. Another issue is that Tile openly admits that the data they collect they reserved the right to sell so if privacy of where you go is an issue this might be a deal breaker.

If these were small enough to stick inside the frame it would be relatively cheap insurance, but since they appear only able to attach externally it is easy enough to simply remove the tracker so that limits the appeal.
