New tape yay or ney?

Raining all day here. I bought this mfs tape a while back and thought it would look good on the old ciocc :

I might say skip it for black tape, but I like trying out different patterns or colors as contrast to the usual. Try this out and see if it grows on you? That MFS pattern is pretty cool.

I've seen that tape on the road. Can't say I'm a fan, but of course, taste is so personal.

Edit: other than that, though, everything else about the build is hnnng.. on point. Though it would benefit tremendously from some gumwalls :)

Personally, I would go with solid black tape.

I like your aesthetic creativity in solving the white or black problem with tape -why choose when you can choose not to choose?

And in almost any other bike with any other paint, the problem would be simply to go white or black, matching saddle to tape etc.

This however is an Italian renegade from the 90s, and damn proud of it. I say let your freak flag fly and rock the crazy tape. YOLO etc.

I agree with this. With the black hoods and the tape it looks like it wants to fade from black to white, so the white saddle would continue that. I probably would like black saddle black tape less than white saddle and mixed tape, but black/black I like better than black/mixed.

If it were me, I would have taken that tape off right away after wrapping it. I've done that with a few tapes I didn't like even though I thought I was going to like them.

Your call, obviously. I don't like the idea of black because that bike is so dark as-is.

I like it. So much of the tape I see is super boring black or white. This is unique which is what I'm guessing you were going for!

I am late to this thread but put black tape on. Beautiful bike but I think the tape really detracts from the good looks.

Tape should not be a focal point.
