Forgive me if this been covered already, what's the recommendation for:

1 1/8 relatively lightweight, disc-compatible gravel fork with good tire clearance (>48mm)

Don't you care how the fork would affect your frame's geometry? aka What is the A-C and offset of the fork that was spec'd on the frame?

Also, what are you after? Steel, CF?

For a cheap solution, assuming this is a gravel/CX bike, a Surly Straggler fork would be hard to beat. Fits up to 2.1" tire, I believe. Not super light, but not obnoxiously heavy, either.

I've got a Whisky9 fork incoming for my new build, but as stated above, you'll obviously have to find one that works geometry wise with your frame.

Ritchey also makes some nice forks.

Thanks for the responses so far.

I just want to know what's out there... emphasis maybe on durable, not too heavy.

Don't worry about the geometry or handling, I will figure that out myself.

Wound up.

Because if you really want to, you can get a different A/C.
Because they stiff AF.
Because they work.
Because they're not ridiculously expensive.
Because they're not Enve.
Because the made in US.
Because because.

TRP CX or Whisky no.9, they're both CX geo.

Rodeo Spork if it ever becomes available (the first batch of 2.0 had to be scrapped due to not meeting their off-road standards.)

All available with fender attachments if that matters.

Available now. They've switched to two bosses on the fork, potentially for a cage.

Have a friend on the full carbon 1 1/8 steerer Whiskey disc cx fork. He seems to really like it, I've never ridden one. pretty sure it was sub 500 grams by a good amount.

I believe all Whiskey cross forks only fit 700x38c tires. I've got one, and max I feel comfortable with is 700x40 (Clement Xplor), but even that would be reserved for dry days--essentially no clearance for mud. I've since switched to 35-36c tires. This is nowhere near what weisan wants (48c). ASSUMING he needs 700c, not 650b.

interesting. I know he runs 650b in his and with a WTB 650 Byway tire has loads of clearance. Must not have the same clearance up high

Thank you again to those who responded with more suggestions.

Yes, 650b x 48mm max.

I really like the Rodeo Spork, less so the $$. :D

Why? Are there any 700x48 tires?

Seems at least two.

And I'm sure some undersized 2.0" tires.

They sold me. If they stick to their projected shipping date I should receive it any day now. But we will see.

Ignore the weight, and the Fyxation Sparta could be an option.

That thing's a pig:D

So specifically this is for 650bx48mm tires, wonder which of these carbon forks would fit.

I don't know what size tire it will take, but I have one ordered and can check when it comes in.

Most everyone of them, I think. I know the Whisky No. 7 will. I know people run SBH tires with the older straight steerer Salsa Vaya forks. The Straggler fork should according to specs. The Ritchey WCS should handle a SBH from accounts I've read.

Wait... I thought you need 1 1/8 and Rodeo (wonderful it is) is taper.

I have this fork, it fits 700 x 45(46) and that would be max. So, 650 x 48 will probably work. The only thing is, it probably as heavy as Fyxation Sparta.

Yeah, site says 885 g. I always carry a ton of stuff with me on gravel rides, so an extra lb. of fork is no big deal for me.

I'm building up an endpoint coffee grinder with SBH on velocity blunt rims which measure 50mm. I've got a Kona project 2 carbon fork which fits the tire with a TON of room to spare.
