Relatively new news to me,Vittoria has discointinued the Open Pave line and reommended the Open Corsa G+ as the current alternative.

I reviewed the specs on the Corsa G+ and im not convinced they are a comparative alternative.

Any suggestions from the collective wisdom of this forum?

the graphene G+ corsas are indeed very nice and roll faster than the previous Paves did. they are pretty durable too, in my experience.

i think the corsas are absolutely a good substitute for the pave's

Panaracer Gravelkings!

http://road.cc/content/review/135369-panaracer-gravel-king-tyres

"Riding the Gravel Kings reminded me of the excellent Vittoria Open Pave tyres, and both have a similar file tread pattern. This is to provide more traction when heading off-road, and on trails where a slick tyre might otherwise slip and struggle, the Gravel Kings powered through."

The Graphenes are pretty cool. I'm a fan over the old Paves.

The tread pattern takes a little getting used to aesthetically tho.

Another vote for GravelKings. The 28c is a good alternative to the Pave 27c. I prefer the Panaracers. Compass are good too.

gravel kings are not as supple as corsa Gs or Compass, but they are cheaper and more durable. pick your poison.

In 28, i give a slight nod to the compass over corsas, but in 25s i think veloflex is all i have tried that compares. corsas are a great tire.

i have had fine luck with challenge Parigi roubaix as well 27mm

I'll prefer my compass 28s and the corsa g+ roll nice and smooth . Can't go wrong with either. If you are on a budget I believe smooth gravel kings are a good choice as well.

I know the "S" word is forbidden around here.....but I honestly think this is the next best alternative and equivalent to Open Pave...one xtra bonus, they usually go on sale during summer (buy one get one free) if you can wait a couple of weeks, that is...

They come in 22, 24, 26 and 28.

+1 on the corsa G+. They are fantastic, agree with angry, they are nicer than the paves.

One of my riding buddies just came by with his new bike and had the michelin pro 4 and he loves them. they are a slick, but he recons they corner better than any file tread hes ridden, and the 25s pumped up plump on the rims he was rolling.

he complemented them enough to where im going to try a set next.

miche pro 4s SC are great tires but they don't hold a candle to the corsa + imo off course

Good timing. I have one bike with the old paves and one with the g+. I really love the G+. I'm surprised because I really loved the Paves and had the same reservations as you.

But dang.. they roll nice.

anyone compared how big the 28mm G+ corsas are versus 27m Paves, on the same rim? 27mm Paves ride great and have great clearance on the bike I want to ride them on, but a pair of 28mm Clement LGG's were super close so I'm weary of 28mm's on there now.

Corsa Gs in 28c are precisely 28mm on my 18mm rim.

If GravelKings cost twice as much as they currently do, they would be ushered to the front of the line.
