Like to see a side shot to check out the rear tire clearance on the seat tube. It looks tight from this angle.

They did at one point. My shop got two of the paint job on Allez frames. Not sure where you could find them now.

ToC could not have gone better.

Getting there as teams were still organizing, I got to see such epic events as Robert Gesink applying sunscreen. Or more appropriately, some poor soigneur doing it for him.

Trek had their Madones in full force that I think look stupid, but are also slowly growing on me.

https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4170/34624659366_7195d023a9_b.jpg

The highlight of the day, as guys were taking their warm-up laps, Petey slow rolled by not 6 feet from me at the barriers. Amid a chorus of cheers, I like to think he heard the one loud boo, though he acknowledged neither. I had no chance to take a photo as I was too busy booing him.

Once the men's race got back to town (after a killer's women's crit), we camped out at the final corner for the winning straight. As advertisted, we saw some dudes just rail this corner, Quick Step in full flight on the final turn.

https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4172/34503436192_1267b66733_b.jpg

Oh wait...look who got booed again!

https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4173/34280056730_23d7c9d0af_b.jpg

With two laps to go, Sunweb rider Mike Teunissen flatted right in front of us. Literally a few feet away. He handled it well though at that point I think he never regained contact with the main group and finished down on time. All the same for a helper, no?

Because somebody has to tell the emperor he has no clothes?

He's won precisely one more Monument than I have, and people act like he's the second coming to one-day racing. The tactical sense of a blind bull. The hype machine second to none with a palmares that doesn't match. People who think he's the next Merckx.

The list goes on and on...

C'mon man.I'm a Philadelphia Flyers fan. when you go to their games in Philly, as the announcer is calling out the names of the starters on the opposing team, after each name, thirty thousand people scream "sucks!"

hell, for certain players (e.g. Sidney Crosby) they boo them the entire time they have the puck. every single time.

At this point, FlashUNC's feelings on Sagan are well known in the forum. I don't happen to agree with him, but he's entitled to his opinion.

Personally (and I say this as a great fan of the Grand Tours), I'd rather watch Sagan animate and make a race and come in second than watch the current snoozefest of the Giro d'Italia (at least before Blockhaus). So I like him. FlashUNC think he's overhyped, and he may well have a point.

I went to Sacramento to watch the women race. Last year I took a Rabo Liv jersey to the race and the whole team signed it, so this year before the race I found Anna van der Breggen and had her sign it as well. I also got autographs from the Wiggle team and Giorgia Bronzini was kind enough to give me one of her used bottles.

This gent decided that a good time to cross the road was right as the peloton was coming through. Fortunately everyone missed him but it could have been a very bad situation. Several police officers had a long chat with him afterwards.

You can see he was right in the thick of it, his head is visible just behind the rider in orange.

Christine Majerus and Amy Peters setting Anna van der Breggen up for the intermediate sprint. Anna was 1 second behind on the GC and needed the bonus seconds from the sprint. Even though Anna isn't a sprinter they did it, Anna took 2nd in the sprint and gained 2 seconds which put her into the lead.

I, along with some friends, met up in Clarksburg on Sunday for Stage 1. We rode 15 miles to the spot on Ryer's Island, the furthest south part of the course, and waited at the place where the peloton went by three times, and rode back to Clarksburg. They all went by in a blur (well, six blurs - three times each for the breakaway and the pack) and I couldn't pick out anyone. Didn't matter - I packed in lunch, had a great time with friends, and got to ride on some wonderful Delta back roads in glorious weather.

Sorry Flash, I neglected to boo Sagan. :p

Thanks to my bud (and Giant Bicycles shop owner) I had the opportunity to do a TOC VIP ride & meet event w/Team Sunweb World Pro men and women.

It was slated to be a casual paced ride ~20-25 miles through Folsom and El Dorado Hills just outside of Sacramento.

No surprise that the "casual" pace of a pro team had me at redline mode with my meager ~40 miles/week fitness but had plenty of time to chat, eat and take goober selfies with the riders back at the shop :D

That, or a fresh motor battery disguised as a super duper Strava-loving clean cookie.

In complete compliance with all EPA regs, the motor runs on soap. At stage end the team RV guys dump the old soap on the side of the road, to mask the other waste they dump on the side of the road....
