I have been thinking of trying a Dura-ACE TRIPLE and found a good deal on a cranket, but, the only problem is they are 170 versus the 172.5 I normally ride. I am thinking of putting them on my Spectrum beam. How much differance will there be in running them and can I run them? The beam has a fair amount of adjustment, anyone out there have any thoughts?

The difference is 2.5MM, about 1/10th of an inch. You could probably do nothing and they'd be fine.

If you look on the for sale, I am selling my 172.5mm FSA SLK carbon triple for a good price. Since you bought my beam, I might even give you a better price.

Do you mean beam as in Softride beam?

Care to post a pic?

Yes, It is a Spectrum Custom based off the Softride beam but with Tom Kellog's Magic touch. Here is a pic of it...

If you switch to a triple, you will need a different front derraileur, long cage rear derraileur.

Pic didn't come through.

I've always been intrigued by the Softride and the Slingshot bikes.

I just installed a new Campy Record triple on my bike, I can sell you my old Record 172.5mm cranks one for a very good price. I even have an NOS campy square taper BB. Something like $50 plus shipping for both items. The cranks are 10speed, not sure if this will create a problem.
