I didn't want to assume, but I'd venture there's no difference in cable pull for older sram red brakes vs. sram ergo and up aerolink brakes, right?

Not that I'm aware of. All of the 11s stuff has the same cable pull - aerolink or not, it's all cross compatible. I'm reasonably sure that it stayed the same going from 10 to 11s too.

Same, but aero links are pretty garbage

If I was getting a modern SRAM group- I would use the older dual pivot brakes with it.

I bought aerolink version to match my etap group

Can confirm they are garbage

Coming from 6700 brakes I think the aerolinks are just fine. What don't you guys like about them?

no issues with aerolinks here either...i also used em with campy levers.

in my experience, there is no appreciable difference mix n matching any road caliper with any road lever. they will all stop your bicycle.

Totally opposite experience. Aerolinks, IMO, are much better than older SRAM brakes. They're a pain to set up, but once you get the hang of it, it's no big deal. And they work as well as the campy and shimano brakes I have too.

Same, have a set of Aerolinks on my CIII and dura ace and ultegra on other bikes. The Areolinks have been great stoppers, light, and work just a nicely as Shimano.

I have three years on Aerolinks and could not be happier with them. Why do you feel they are garbage?

I'm not thinking they're garbage, but I switch wheels back and forth a lot and just found setting up the older dual pivot red brakes to be easier for me -- and this could just be my experience and mechanical skill level.

Dual pivot are definitely WAY easier to set up, but haven't noticed a big difference versus the newer stuff when stopping

What makes setup hard? I have one bike with aerolink and several bikes with dual pivots of various qualities and I have not noticed them being more difficult.
