I have been off of the bike for the last 5 years (hip, back, getting old). Time to get back on the horse, Spent the last few months sourcing the parts for my early 2000's build.

The young mechanic at my shop couldn't stop raving about the bike even though he is surrounded by 6k+ bikes. It is good to see that craftsmanship is still appreciated!

Carbon bikes are actually kinda boring, when you really get down to it.

Humongous down tubes, head tubes and bottom brackets, the absolute importance of trivial aero differences... don't get me started.

Dinosaur rant over. ;)

Very nice. Classic. Understated. Love the steel fork.

very nice bike. closest i have is a Gunnar made by Waterford with a waterford steel fork and i can not say enough good things about how well it rides. i definitely do believe that Waterford has the "secret sauce" that make steel bikes just ride so sweet. yours is a very nice example and you have it built up brilliantly.

ride it in good health and welcome back to the saddle.

Part of the fun is finding the parts and it looks like you did a nice job.

I love the frame pump. Is it a Zefal? Looks exactly like the one that hangs on my current bike.
